Neglected Pet Ears can result in Irritability and Infections. 

Understand the causes and symptoms of ear infections for your pet as you would look for in your children.  Like humans, cat and dog ear infections can be very painful and a major cause for irritability in our pets, if neglected.

Cat and Dog ear infections typically start at the end of the ear and moved inward.  The causes of ear infections can result from untreated ear mites, buildup of earwax, water in the ears, or allergies, to name a few.

Here are the symptoms of what to look for in the beginning stages of cat and dog ear infections:

    * Scratching of the ears
    * Rubbing them
    * Shaking head
    * Cries when ears are touched
    * Ears look bloody, waxy or swollen

As cat and dog ear infections penetrate deeper into the ear be aware of these symptoms:

    * Touching the pet’s head causes them pain
    * Dizziness
    * Poor balance
    * May walk in circles
    * VomitScabs around the ear
    * Raw skin on the ears

Pets, like humans can become extremely irritable if health conditions persist without treatment.  If you find that there is a sudden change of behavior in your pet and are concerned about aggression and biting, immediately consult an animal doctor for possible health problems.
