What is Cushing’s Disease:

Cushing’s disease in dogs and cats is a diagnosis of a weakened pituitary or adrenal gland and adrenal gland tumors are responsible for 20% of the diagonises.  Both the pituitary and the adrenal glands are responsible for the production of corticosteroid hormones which are responsible for the functioning of every tissue and organ in the bodies of cats and dogs.  Cushing’s disease in dogs and cats results when the pituitary and the adrenal glands are compromised and too much of a hormone is produced.

Symptoms:
Cushing’s disease is found more commonly in dogs that in cats.
